About
Hello! My name is Erin, and I am a Washington, DC-based vegan.
During my last year of college, I was constantly sick. Finally, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in December 2017. For 2.5 years, I struggled with chronic pain and “flare-ups.” In April 2020, I decided to try out a plant-based diet and quickly saw improvements in my health. I spent much of May 2020 researching veganism, factory farming, climate change, etc., and decided to go “full vegan.”
I chose the name “Painless Vegan” for three reasons:
Since going vegan, I have been able to control my Crohn’s Disease and no longer experience chronic pain and “flare-ups.”
I am always looking for cheap, easy, and “pain-free” options. I don’t want to spend 2 hours in the kitchen every night.
And of course, veganism is about removing (to the best of your ability) all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty.
I am not a trained chef, but I grew up cooking with my family in Ohio. When I am not in the kitchen, I love to be outside and can usually be spotted on the various trails in/around DC.
